ECF is more than proud to present the official Idea Camp 2017 aftermovie, explaining the ideas behind the Moving Communities methodology.

ECF's third Idea Camp took place in Madrid from 1 to 3 March 2017, co-produced with our Connected Action for the Commons hub Platoniq and the City of Madrid. With its focus on “Moving Communities”, the 2017 Idea Camp followed an open call for daring ideas to build societies with greater equality, sustainability and solidarity, and a stronger sense of social justice. It was about communities on the move, communities in flux and also the power of people to “move” their communities through their progressive and creative ideas.

We need to co-make our cities together: institutions collaborating with local people.

The new report Co-Making the City: Ideas from the Innovative City Development meeting presents ideas on how to do this based on the collaborative thinking of city makers who attended the Innovative City Development meeting in Madrid in March 2017. ECF hopes these ideas can inspire more confidence in co-city-making between institutions and citizens.

In July 2017 this report was presented to the attendees of the International Association for the Study of the Commons conference, highlighting case studies and experiences on city-making.
